Although many engineering projects involve a fairly short time frame and specific scope, CVL Engineering Inc. has also been contracted for long-term, full-time services. In these cases, we’re typically performing a wide range of services to upgrade, maintain, and monitor critical infrastructure while a significant ongoing project is completed.
CVL Engineers Inc. was contracted by Clearway Construction Inc. to provide full-time professional field geotechnical engineer services for the North Road Truck Sewer Project. This upgrade to the sewer pipe is necessary for accommodating growing populations in the cities of Burnaby and Coquitlam.
Our scope of work in this ongoing project includes inspecting, reviewing, certifying, identifying, and approving the subgrade material of bedding sewer pipeline. We also continuously monitor the excavation and dewatering conditions, trench supports and stability, and existing underground utilities and structures. The latter includes live existing sewer, gas, water, and electrical lines, as well as the Trans-Canada Highway Overpass, the Translink Skytrain Viaduct foundation, and so on.
Our work on this project will continue throughout the entire construction period while open cut excavation takes place on-site. Our focus is on quality and safety for all workers and nearby communities.
